In & Out - Double Double

Mark Lim - To All Fast Food Companies: Yes, my curiosity is perked when you top your burger with bleu cheese, portabello mushrooms, pineapples, clams, tripe, sushi, and soak it all in au jus, but you'll never make a good burger if you can't get the basics right.

In & Out's menu is as simple as it gets because they've focused all their talents into one thing: Making a good burger. They have the best quality control when it comes to Fast Food. Their burgers are juicy, flavorful and In & Out is pretty awesome when you're talking about consistency.

Here's a video of me eating a Double Double. I stopped by my dad's dry cleaners to run his shop for the day and he got me lunch. It got a little busy so the burger sat out for about half an hour so it wasn't as good as it normally was, but that was my fault. Enjoy.

In & Out: Double Double
Taste ------------ (9) Great patties, lettuce always good, awesome sauce
Presentation -----(7) Usually pretty good, I let this one sit out for a while though
Price ------------- (9) $3 is a good price for a Double Double
Quantity --------- (7) A pretty big burger for the price
Satisfaction ----- (8) I love me some In & Out

Rating: 9 out of 10

The Double Double is probably the burger I most frequently eat. There's just something comforting about it. I can always count on getting a good quality burger from In & Out.

Be Fat! Be Happy!

Nice job, Mark. Personally, I would give the "Price" ranking at least a 9 and probably a 10. When you consider how many fast food joints charge four or five bucks for lousy burgers, I would say $2.99 for an always-fresh Double-Double is perhaps the best fast food deal around. (But this is your blog, not mine, so I certainly respect your opinion.)

The DOUBLE DOUBLE is a classic and one of the quintessential burgers. And amazingly, In N Out's fries are to French fries what In N Out's burgers are to burgers.

If you ever get to La Grande Orange (Pasadena), do give their cheeseburger a try. It's pretty darn good.

I love me some In & Out and they don't have them here! I am so sad about this fact!

Justin - Yeah, you're right. Those burgers are pretty damn affordable and they let you customize it anyway you want, Protein, Animal Style, Grilled Cheese, etc. I've already gotten some angry comments that I should have rated it higher, lol.

Mark Lim: The Two Guys insist that the "next time" you are in Pasadena, you must join us for a meal. We're thinking lunch at PIE N BURGER or LA GRANDE ORANGE or WOLFE BURGERS or SMITTY'S.

SMITTY'S "RATTLESNAKE BURGER" is sooooooooooo good.

Until then . . ..

Out of all the things I miss the most about California....

Five Guys is a close second, but you can't beat the price of InO.

in n out is a classic. never fails to impress.

I don't know if you've ever been to LBJ's in Redondo (or if this is even remotely close to you) but they make a GREAT classic burger. Actually, speaking of classic burgers, Classic Burger 1 in Gardena has fries that are to die for. :)
